Director of Brunei Museum Department has been appointed as the Director of National Archives of Brunei Darussalam. An Advisory Council has been set up under the National Archives of Brunei Darussalam Act to advice the Director. The current Advisory Council Members comprises of the Director of Personnel, Public Service Department; Director of Management Services; Director of E-Government National Centre, Head of the History Centre and a representative of the Attorney's General. The organization is managed by the Chief Archives Officer and is divided into six distinctive units as follows:
Acquisition Unit
Registers, preserves and conserves archival holdings of national and historical significance. The archival holdings consists of conventional paper-based formats such as manuscripts, files, maps and plans and so forth.
Audio-Visual and Gallery Unit
Registers, preserves and conserves archival holding on various audio-visual media that includes 16mm films, compact audio tapes and microfilms. The unit also provides support for oral history recordings and promoting public education programmers through exhibitions.
Oral History Unit
Conducts research and document oral history recordings.
Research and Customer Service Unit
Provides access services to the general public on archives. In addition, the unit is also tasked to conduct researches on historical findings in our archival holdings.
Administration Unit
Provides administrative support for the National Archives of Brunei Darussalam.
